Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is an actress and model. After making her debut in a feature film with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to portray the an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donevan in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) were other characters. Doody started modelling when she was approached. It turned out to be an extremely lucrative profession. Doody did not like glamour or nude work. This was a principle that she incorporated into her acting. When she came to the director's attention for a James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role for a small part in A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was listed as one of the top 12 promising young Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was still only aged 18 at the time of her debut in the Bond part. To date she's the newest Bond girl. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA members Siobhan Doovan. Doody was seen as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 TV adaptation of The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. Her first lead role was in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking probably her most high-profile part ever in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. Doody starred alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series based on Hitler Diaries. In Hollywood, she moved to. She starred as Flannery on the screen in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody was absent from the stage for nearly 10 years, came back in 2003 for a minor part of the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her in a scene at an award ceremony. The year 2004, she starred with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), an essay on the Holocaust. In 2010, Doody shot a part on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). The following year, she had been scheduled scheduled to play the lead role on The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she won the Almeria Tierra de Cinema Award as well as a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
